chief Pigott Of Barbados, Dublin & Stradbally

For 30 years of research existence, I have continued to trust, when I were led to by other individuals who went before, that my Irish ancestor was Captain John PIGOTT, of Kingis Corp, who'd a daughter named John PIGOTT who was born in Dublin about 1759. Only Plumbers Dublin a year and seven days after Constantia Maria Senioris demise, her widower John PIGOTT, Esq, of Dublin, was married secondly, by Rev Mr DUNKIN ATST Bridgetis Cathedral, Dublin, on 2 May 1740, to Katherine BABINGTON, of St Bridget's Parish, the widow of William BABINGTON of Strabane, State Tyrone, and a child of Rev John JOHNSTONE of Clondevadock, State Donegal, by Mildred HAMILTON.

PILKINGTON's first marriage had ended in scandal 1738 he separated his first partner, Laetitia Van LEWEN, mentioning her adultery with a Mr ADAIR; by her significantly short lived companionship with Jonathan SWIFT she had purchased for PILKINGTON an article as Chaplain for the Lord Mayor of London; she revealed her Memoirs in Dublin in 1748, and died on 29 August 1750.

The father, Steve PIGOTT Elderly, was herself a younger child of Johnson PIGOTT (born about 1640; died in 1702) of Dysart, Double's State, Ireland, by his partner Elizabeth WELDON (they were committed in Dublin in 1663). Frances Jr continued to boost the children until her death a couple of years later; but whether she kept at Kilcromin, or returned to Bermuda provided for in her spouse's will, is uncertain; but possibly the latter.
